problems sending emails using yahoo’s smtp server
I used yahoo’s smtp server (smtp.mail.yahoo.it) a long time for sending mails through Thunderbird, but recently it stopped working. I always received error messages that my mail was not relayed, but didn’t get a specific error code.
So, after looking around for a long time, I had to change my smt configuratin to the following:
smtp server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port: 465 Secure Connection: SSL Username: Userid without @yahoo.it
And this works again.

I can not send e mail now. Garbled messages come up saying i must solve some graffitti message over and over again. What happened. I want my email cleared. Please help. Barbara Kellett.

I’M A COMPLETE NOVICE WHERE COMPUTERS ARE CONCERNED. ALL I WANT IS TO SEND AN EMAIL..SOUNDS SO SIMPLE UNTILL MY COMPUTER STARTS ASKING FOR POP3 THINGIES AND INCOMING/OUTGOING SERVERS?? I PHONED THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT MY LAPTOP WHO THE REFFERED ME TO MY INTERNET SUPPLIER,WHO THEN REFFERED ME BACK,WHO? YOU GUESSED IT AFER SENDING ME TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT SENT ME BACK TO MY INTERNET SUPPLIER. AFTER 6 PHONE CALLS I WAS TOLD TO LOOK ON YAHOO HOME PAGE,AGAIN SOUNDS SIMPLE. YET I’M NON THE WISER,WITH A UNI PRESENTATION PENDING AND NO CLUE HOW TO USE THIS CRAPPY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
IS ANYONE OUT THERE PREPARED TP HELP A NOVICE WITHOUT LAUGHING OR SAYING “IT’S EASY?”. I’M THAT STRESSED I WANT TO CRY,SAD AS IT IS ONLY SENDING A BLOODY EMAIL!
HELP ME?
